If your network is anything like mine, you probably know a long list of consultants on a first name basis. You see their posts on different social media platforms, see them working at Starbucks and you probably wonder how the heck they make any money doing what they do when they spend that much on coffee! I’m proud to be a Business + Image consultant and while most people have heard of business consulting I’m often questioned on what it means to be an Image Consultant. I help individuals who need to enter and/or re-enter the workforce by educating them on how to properly write a cover letter, resume and successfully complete an interview. I give them social media training to better understand how to utilize their social media to gain employment and ensure it’ not hindering their opportunities. I help them establish a personal brand and give them connections to build on their current skill set.

Currently, have a job, you say? Well, I can still help you! The truth is regardless of your employment status, you should always have an up to date resume, portfolio and professional development log. What’s a professional development log, you ask? Well, I can’t give you all my secrets so I’ll save that for another time! You never know when your circumstances will change so it’s always better to be prepared.

Picture this: You have a nice stable job, make enough to pay your bills, put a little away in savings and overall have a positive quality of life. You arrive at work this morning to start your day as normal when you’re called into the boss’s office. Your boss explains that there has been a restructuring and your position is no longer needed. You’ve been given a buyout package that is enough to last you a few months at most. What happens now? The “It-won’t-happen-to-me philosophy will not prepare you for this situation but working with an Image consultant can!
